Alex Rodriguez is the third baseman for the New York Yankees. Twice voted the American League Most Valuable Player, he was born in New York City, moved with his family to their native Dominican Republic when he was four, then moved to Miami with his family at the age of eight. The only person in baseball history to hit 400 home runs before his thirtieth birthday, he hit his first home run at the age of six! Drafted out of high school as the top pick in the country by the Seattle Mariners, he went on to play for the Texas Rangers before being traded to the Yankees. Alex, his wife, Cynthia, and young daughter live in New York City and Miami, FL.

Updating an ongoing story, CBSSports.com reports New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez received advice from Warren Buffett to approach the team without agent Scott Boras, according to the Wall Street Journal. Rodriguez got in touch with Buffett after becoming upset with how things developed after he opted out of his contract. Rodriguez and Buffett have been friends for several years.
