Alejandro Fernandez: Superstar Alejandro Fernandez
built 204 days ago
Superstar Alejandro Fernandez's 15th studio disc in as many years as a singer. But he still approaches each project with the urgency and earnestness of a newbie singer. That's what makes each tune a small celebration, an intimate moment of discovery. There are no wasted moments amid the sterling arrangements, some of the best in Fernandez's lush pop repertoire. (He's an equally heralded ranchera singer.) in 2007 launches Viento a Favor features tunes written by Leonel Garcia and Noel Schajris (better known as emotive Latin-pop duo Sin Bandera) and Mexican singer Reyli Barba. They're all taken to wuthering heights by Fernandez's stellar vocal range, which goes from hushed whispers to booming intensity.

Throughout his l5 year career, legendary singer Alejandro Fernandez has exemplified the best that modern Mexico's culture offers: He channels its rich tradition through his music and personifies its future with his appeal around the world. In 1992, Alejandro Fernandez released his debut, self-titled album, launching one of the most prolific, successful and memorable careers in Latin music. Since then, the son of legendary ranchera singer Vicente Fernandez has done what few progeny of famous parents have ever been able to achieve: He's followed in his father's footsteps, but at the same time, he's carved out his own, separate path, releasing 16 albums and selling nearly 20 million copies along the way thanks to a magnificent, velvety voice and an unparalleled stage presence. Alejandro is one of only a handful of artists that have managed to become a superstar and combine the world of traditional ranchera music with the world of pop. His vocal abilities are of world renown: In 1998, he was invited by Placido Domingo to perform in Vienna, and recently Jose Carreras, Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti invited him to perform as a special guest of the Three Tenors.
Disc Two of the expanded B'Day - Deluxe Edition debuts six new Spanish language tracks including "Amor Gitano," Beyonce's sensuous flamenco-pop duet with Latin Grammy-winning superstar Alejandro Fernandez.
