1. Simpson -- Album
   Simpson said of making the album: "It's a lot of work. From finding the right label to the actual recording, it took about nine months, then it was followed by the publicity work."[21] In an extensive list of thank-yous in the album's liner notes, Simpson includes Benji and Joel Madden of the band Good Charlotte, with whom she worked on a song that did not make it onto the album.[44]
2. The Cure -- Albums
   The Cure first formed in southern England in 1976 as Easy Cure. In 1978 the 'Easy' was dropped, and The Cure was signed to the Fiction label. In May 1979 their debut album Three Imaginary Boys was released to great acclaim.

4. Aerosmith -- Albums
   From Variety - Eric Clapton, Aerosmith and Queen head up the short list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall Fame class of 2000. Also on the ballot of performers whose debut album was released at least 25 years ago are Black Sabbath, Solomon Burke, Earth, Wind & Fire, the O'Jays, the Moonglows, Lovin' Spoonful, Bonnie Raitt, Lou Reed, Steely Dan, James Taylor and Ritchie Valens.
5. The Clash -- Albums
   The Clash were a major success in the UK from the release of their first album in 1977 named 'The Clash', and became popular in the U.S. in 1980. Their third album, the late 1979 release London Calling is an influential album in the history of rock and alternative music; it was released in the U.S. in January 1980, and a decade later Rolling Stone magazine declared it the best album of the 1980s. Rolling Stone ... placed it at #8, The Clash at #77, and Sandinista! at #404 on their 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
6. The Beatles -- Albums
   The Beatles are releasing the LOVE album both as a stereo CD and a 5.1 mix on Audio DVD. These mixes are amazing… You can see the press release on The Beatles web site. The album will be sold as a CD or a special edition containing the CD and DVD versions of the music. The track list contains nearly all the pieces created for the Cirque du Soliel show at the Mirage in Las Vegas. It even includes the music from the transition moments in the show, and the oft mentioned mash-up of Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows.
7. Soundtracks -- Albums
   Epic Soundtracks is not a record label (that's Epic Soundtrax); he's a talented rock n' roll journeyman who has been a working musician since the late '70's when he was a mere child. Recently he has released albums under his own name, er well, his stage name. He's really named Paul Godley but all his friends call him Epic.
8. The Cult -- Albums
   With the 1984 release of their first album 'Dreamtime', The Cult were the darlings of the post-punk scene, their chart topping 'Spiritwalker' single having held at number one for three months. Their second album, 'Love', continued to evoked memories of 1960s psychedelia such as The Doors, and the Pretty Things.
9. Metallica -- Albums
   Metallica is an American heavy metal band. They were formed in October 1981. With 57 million albums sold in the United States, and 35 million albums sold outside the U.S., the band has sold just over 90 million albums making them one of the most commercially successful heavy metal acts in history. Metallica are currently 18th on the RIAA's list of top selling acts in the United States.
10. Kraftwerk -- Albums
    If the arrival of a new Kraftwerk album is a surprise, then its subject matter is not. 'Tour De France Soundtracks' is ostensibly an expansion of the 1983 'Tour De France' single, right down to the practically identical artwork. There is a little heavy breathing and accelerated heartbeats (on 'Elektro Kardiogramm'), but mostly the 12 tracks cross flatland quickly, fluently, with little apparent effort. The sweat and grind of mountain stages do not fit into Kraftwerk's worldview of smooth, transformative travel, with their concept of a music which synthesises the idea of constant motion.
