1. Music Charts
   Not content with breaking records and world domination on the music charts, Shania Twain is now venturing into the glamorous world of sheep farming. She plans to farm up to 15,000 merino sheep on her South Island properties in New Zealand and hopes to turn her investment into an $800,000-a-year business within two years. Shania's sheep will be tended by six full-time employees and 15 part-time staff over three years. Development projects include a $1.5 million home for Shania and husband Mutt Lange; $250,000 to build woolsheds and sheepyards; $100,000 for shearers' quarters; $360,000 in fencing; and roads and an airstrip at the cost of $80,000. Shania and Mutt paid $21.4 million for the perpetual lease of Motatapu Station and Mt. Soho Station near Wanaka, New Zealand.
2. Music Charts -- Billboard Hot
   At the end of each year, Billboard tallies the results of all of its charts, and the top single/album/artist(s) in each of those charts is awarded in the form of the annual Billboard Music Awards, held in December. The results are ... published in Billboard's year-end issue, and heard on year-end edition of its American Top 40 and American Country Countdown radio broadcasts. The year-end charts cover a period from the first week of December of the previous year to the last week of November of the respective year.[1]
3. Beyonce -- Albums
   Beyonce's second solo album, B'DAY, closed out 2006 as one of the year's most successful album, coming in at #7 on Billboard's U.S. Top 10 Best-Selling Albums chart. Certified RIAA double platinum in the U.S., B'DAY has sold more than 4 million copies around the world.
4. Dre -- Albums
   More than any other rapper, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avant-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions as well as the party vibes of old-school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-funk. BDP's early albums were hardcore but cautionary tales of the criminal mind, but Dre's records with N.W.A. celebrated the hedonistic, amoralistic side of gang life. Dre was never much of a rapper -- his rhymes were simple and his delivery was slow and clumsy -- but as a producer, he was extraordinary. With N.W.A.
5. Switchfoot -- Albums
   Switchfoot is BACK! This is a killer song and if it's any indication, "Oh Gravity!.. is going to be an awesome album. Switchfoot beats the odds and keeps getting better and better.
6. Starsailor -- Albums
   Named for Tim Buckley's 1970 album of the same name, Starsailor released Love Is Here in 2001, ultimately hitting #2 on the U.K. charts. By 2003, Starsailor released Silence Is Easy, which went platinum in Europe but was overshadowed by an assortment of Coldplay- and Radiohead-inspired acts with a similar flair for drama. The new On the Outside finds Starsailor sounding refreshed after a period out of the limelight, while retaining the depth of emotion that attracted it so much attention in the first place.
7. Musicology -- Album
   Since the album's release April 20, "Musicology" CDs handed out at shows have been included in SoundScan numbers. In the album's first week of release, of the 191,275 copies sold, only 12,605 were from ticket sales. In total, the tour has about 40 shows in arenas with capacities of 17,000-20,000. Prince's manager-attorney Londell McMillan says Prince will play and give out CDs to as many as 1.5 million fans during the tour.
8. Maxwell -- Albums
   Now elevated to sex-symbol status, Maxwell capitalized on his breakthrough with the MTV Unplugged EP, taken from his live MTV performance. It attracted attention and acclaim outside the R&B community with the left-field cover choices "This Woman\'s Work" (by prog rocker Kate Bush) and "Closer" (the Nine Inch Nails hit). Additionally, the Unplugged version of "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever" earned him another Grammy nomination (for Best Male Pop Vocal). Anticipation for his second full-length album was high, and when Embrya was released in 1998, it entered the charts at number three. Reviews were more mixed this time around, with some critics charging that Maxwell\'s ambition had crossed the line into indulgence; still, the record duplicated its predecessor\'s platinum sales. In 1999, Maxwell scored his biggest hit to date with the single "Fortunate," an R. Kelly composition he recorded for the soundtrack of the film Life; it was a mammoth success, ranking as the number one R&B hit of the year in Billboard magazine.
