Alaska Airlines: Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Alaska Airlines' regional carrier, Horizon Air, is closely integrated into Alaska's operations, with Alaska and Horizon sharing many routes. Alaska and Horizon are owned by the same parent company, Alaska Air Group. The airline's frequent flyer program is called Mileage Plan. Alaska Airlines is not part of any of the three major airline alliances, but Mileage Plan airline partners include prominent members of SkyTeam, such as Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, KLM, and Air France, as well as members of Oneworld, including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas.

Alaska and Horizon ... announced today a fee increase for changes made through the airlines' reservations centers and ticket counters. The new $75 fee, which will apply to tickets purchased beginning Oct. 3, 2007, is designed to encourage more customers to use the enhanced online itinerary change tool. The fee for online itinerary changes will remain $50. The new feature does not yet allow customers to change Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan award tickets or international itineraries. Customers can continue to make these changes through reservations call centers and ticket counters until these functions are available online in the future. The airlines' new online change feature was deployed using ITA Software's QPX system.

If you [A]re a Safeway/Carrs Club member and an Alaska Mileage Plan member, sign up at a participating Safeway, Carrs or Eaglestore. Complete a Safeway/Carrs Club Card application form. To be eligible, you must submit a fully completed and accurate application, even if you are already a Safeway/Carrs Club Card member. You will want to enter your existing Club Card number under Changes to Existing Card Account, check the box Add Alaska Mileage Plan Account Number and complete Section 1. You will need your Mileage Plan account number to enter on the application for enrollment in the program. If you do not remember your Safeway Club Card number call customer care at 1-877-SAFEWAY.
