The American musicologist, harpsichordist, fortepianist and conductor, Alan (Stanley) Curtis, studied first at Michigan State University and attained his Bachelor of Music's degree there in 1955 and Master of Music in 1956. His graduate study at the University of Illinois was interrupted after the completion of his master's program by two years of study with Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam (1957-1959). Following his work with the master harpsichordist, organist, and conductor, Curtis returned to the University of Illinois to complete his doctorate, awarded in 1963.

Alan Curtis, managing director of ProLogis, said, "The Midlands market remains quite attractive to customers seeking a strategic location for distributing throughout the UK, as evidenced by the volume of transactions completed in the first quarter. Demand for large distribution facilities continues to be very strong and the existing supply of high quality distribution space is not sufficient to satisfy this demand. In addition, occupancy remains high while practically all new space completed in 2000 is fully leased."

By age 10 Curtis had began performing at local birthday parties and various charity events. At 11 he added performing at restaurants and corporate functions to his variety of work. And by age 13 he opened his first production company. This gave him the capability to produce local small events as well as his own show. He soon became one of the youngest illusionists to perform in casinos; performing in casinos all over northern Nevada including the Reno Hilton, The Eldorado, and John Ascuaga's Nugget to name a few.

The present recording was a landmark in interpreting Gesualdo's madrigals, based as it was on new research by Alan Curtis. The tuning employed is brilliantly satisfying, linking the various chords employed in purely tonal ways. The result is a set of pitches richer than 12-to-an-octave, to accommodate pure intervals in various modulations. Obviously, Curtis' involvement with the contemporary keyboard instruments of more than 12 keys to an octave is a contributing factor to his view of this vocal music. It is crucial to understand that the resulting "microtonal" relationships do not lead to more dissonance, but rather to a greater purity of interval throughout the piece.
