Vor Beginn der zweiten Intifada verübten nur die Hamas und der Islamische Dschihad Selbstmordanschläge. Beide Gruppen wurden von der iranischen Führung und der Hisbollah finanziert. Seit 2001 verübten auch Arafats al-Aqsa-Brigaden und andere Gruppen Selbstmordanschläge. Die Hälfte aller Anschläge geht auf das Konto der Hamas, etwa ein Fünftel auf das des Islamischen Dschihad, rund ein Drittel auf das der al-Aqsa-Brigaden.

Many people have been angry with CNN and the way it covers the Aqsa Intifada because it tried to ignore and distort the facts. This important issue requires analysis to understand the dimensions of such a step. CNN media coverage of the Second Gulf War and the praise it got from the US Defense Secretary at the end of the war made us realize the foundations of the political perspective that governs CNN's rhetoric and the level of its connections with the US Intelligence and leadership.
