According to one concert-goer, Akon during his performance believed someone in the crowd had thrown something at him. According to video footage, Akon asked fans to point out that fan, then a security guard plucked the fan out of the crowd, and handed him over to Akon. The performer then picked up the 15-year-old boy and tossed him into the crowd, where he landed on a woman.

They said the singer asked the crowd to point out the culprit and a security guard picked out a 15-year-old boy and sent him up to the stage. Akon then hoisted the teen onto his shoulders and flung him into the crowd.
