Following this, Akon now ... owns his own record label, called Konvict Muzik. Akon is scheduled to release his sophomore album, ‘Konvicted’, in November 2006. This marks a rebirth of sorts for him. The album includes collaborations with famous stars like Snoop Dogg, Styles P, Brick and Lace. Earlier this year, Akon collaborated with Eminem to release “Smack That”, along with a video directed by Raymond Garced. This is featured in the upcoming album.

Throughout 2006, Akon worked on his debut album’s follow-up titled Konvicted. The album's planned release date is November, 2006. Konvicted features collaboration with major industry names including Snoop Dogg and Eminem. The single “Smack That,” featuring Eminem, preceded the album.

Akon recently revealed he's worked with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Madonna on their new albums. Normally any artist would be stoked to work with any of the three, but with Akon, it's clear which legend got him giddy.

Akon revealed on Much On Demand that Britney contacted him recently and asked him to work on her upcoming album. He went on to say he would definitely do it because he roots for her. He concluded saying it'd only take Britney a hot album to have back on top!
