The rock group Air Supply is known for many top 10 songs such as ‘Lost in Love’, ‘All Out of Love’, ‘The One That You Love’, ‘Sweet Dreams’ and ‘Making Love Out of Nothing at All’. They stopped by KUSI on April 27, 2006 to play a few of their songs.

It was 1985 and Air Supply was playing at Six Flags Over Texas. The crowd was so big they couldn't perform in the tiny amphitheater inside the park, so a large section of the amusement park's insanely large parking lot was converted into a SRO venue.

With their heavily orchestrated, sweet ballads, the Australian soft rock group Air Supply became a staple of early-'80s radio, scoring a string of seven straight Top Five singles. Air Supply, for most intents and purposes, was the duo of vocalists Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell; other members came through the group over the years, yet they only functioned as backing musicians and added little to the group's sound. Hitchcock and Russell met while performing in a Sydney, Australia, production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 1976. The two singers formed a partnership and with the addition of four supporting musicians -- keyboardist Frank Esler-Smith, guitarist David Moyse, bassist David Green, and drummer Ralph Cooper -- Air Supply was born. For several years, the group gained no attention outside of Australia, earning one significant hit single, "Love and Other Bruises." Their first international exposure came in the late '70s, when Rod Stewart had them as his opening act on a North American tour.

Although in essence Air Supply has always functioned as a duo, the group actually started out as a full-fledged band. After Russell and Hitchcock met in 1975 while performing in an Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Jesus Christ Superstar, the two formed a band that recorded two albums in the late '70s that garnered little attention outside Australia. In 1978 the duo shrugged off its struggles and hired the four musicians with whom they would record Air Supplys future hits. Still, Russell and Hitchcock had to wait until the next decade to sign a recording contract with Arista and become hitmakers.

Air Supply wasn't finished yet. In spite of the lower sales of Now & Forever compared with previous releases, the next year would prove very big for the band. In 1983, they released their "Greatest Hits" album with a new single called "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" written by Jim Steinman. The song was one of their biggest hits ever spending three weeks at number 2, and the album eventually sold 5 million copies.

In 1980, Air Supply is welcomed by the US. Lost In Love is released and contained the 3 songs that would hit the top five on US charts. "Lost In Love" at # 3 (5/3/80), "Every Woman In The World" at # 5 (12/31/80) and "All Out Of Love" # 2 (9/13/81). These would be the first of eight Top #5 chart hits for Air Supply. America could not get enough of the 'Australian Boys'. The first album to see the Multi-Platinum.
