Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is a measure of the amount of contaminant-free air delivered by the room air cleaner. However, please note, the US EPA does not endorse any manufacturer claims of healthier indoor air from the use of this product.

To determine how much air must be moved through the air cleaner to provide 2 ACH, you take the total volume of the room and multiply by 2. Air cleaners provide air flow performance in cubic feet per minute, so you must take your total volume of air for 2 ACH and divide by 60 minutes to get a value for cubic feet per minute (CFM).

Portable air cleaners generally contain a fan to circulate the air and use one or more of the air cleaning devices discussed above. Portable air cleaners may be moved from room to room and used when continuous and localized air cleaning is needed. They may be an option if a home is not equipped with a central HVAC system or forced air heating system.
