Playing anything from neurotic neighbors to sympathetic best friends, Agnes Moorehead made significant contributions as a supporting actress to several of classic cinema's greatest films. Her works earned her four Best Supporting Actress nominations over the course of her career, and she can still be seen today in reruns of the '60s sitcom "Bewitched" in her role as Samantha's mother Endora.

Consummate pros Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead, try as they might, just can't add any luster to this tired snoozer. Price is essentially wasted here, stuck in a more or less generic role. despite the riveting dish-drying scene.

This is Tranberg’s third book, following a 2005 biography of Marie Wilson and a 2006 look at Agnes Moorehead. The Madison, WI native seems so far focused on shining new light on forgotten actors or ones taken a bit too much for granted. Wilson for example was the quintessential ‘dumb blonde,’ and in fact campaigned hard for the Judy Holliday role in Born Yesterday.
