Ben Affleck's story is, without doubt, one of the great rags-to-riches tales in recent cinema history. Bucking the system, they wrote their own screenplay, attracted their own finance, and produced and starred in their own movie. - Morgan Freeman -- Stars

Dogma is one of the most entertaining films ever made about religion. Keep in mind that it's a comedy, indeed a satire which aims directly at the flaws and pretensions of organized religion. The movie opens with a series of disclaimers that set the tone for what follows. "Not to be taken seriously." And in case you miss it the first time, the warning continues: "To insist that any of what follows is incendiary or inflammatory is to miss our intention." And finally: "Please - before you think about hurting someone over this trifle of a film, remember: even God has a sense of humor. Just look at the Platypus. Thank you and enjoy the show." But methinks the film maker protests too much. - Eliza Dushku -- True Lies

Born in Benoni, South Africa on August 7, 1975, Charlize Theron is the first South African to win an Oscar in the Best Actress category. “Theron” is a French word which in Afrikaans is pronounced as “Tronn,” although she prefers it pronounced as “Thrown”. She was the only child of her parents, growing up on the farms near Johannesburg. At the age of thirteen she was sent to a boarding school, and at fifteen witnessed the death of her father, who was an abusive alcoholic, and was shot by her mother in self defense when attacked. A year later, Theron traveled to Milan, on a one year modeling assignment, after winning a competition at home. Her contract soon ended. - Pearl Harbor -- Pearl Harbor Attack
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack that shocked the US. On the morning of December 7, 1941, planes and midget submarines of the Imperial Japanese Navy began a surprise attack on the U.S. under the command of Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo. Despite long-standing assertions that this attack could have been predicted and prevented by the United States Military, the US forces at Pearl Harbor appeared to be utterly unprepared, and the attack effectively drew the United States into World War II. At 6:09 a.m. on December 7, 1941, the six Japanese carriers launched a first wave of 181 planes composed mainly of torpedo bombers, dive bombers, horizontal bombers and fighters. The Japanese hit American ships and military installations at 7:55 a.m. They attacked military airfields and at the same time they hit the fleet anchored in Pearl Harbor. The battleship Arizona was hit with an armor piercing bomb which penetrated the forward ammunition compartment, blowing the ship apart. - Janeane Garofalo
Janeane Garofalo's style in comedy is cynical, harsh, and yet somehow still charming. Janeane began working in stand-up comedy and then moved into television in the early '90s, part of Ben Stiller's one season on Fox, and then as a regular on The Larry Sanders Show. Janeane appeared in independently produced comedies such as Reality Bites (1994, with Winona Ryder) and The Truth About Cats and Dogs (1996, with Uma Thurman), as well as more dramatic roles such as those she took on in Cop Land (1997, with Sylvester Stallone) and Permanent Midnight (1998). Garofalo was in several other movies from 1998 to 2000, including The Minus Man (1999), Mystery Men (1999, with Hank Azaria and Paul Reubens), 200 Cigarettes (1999, with Ben Affleck) and the animated Titan A. E. (2000, with Matt Damon and Drew Barrymore). In 2004 Garofalo made the leap to radio as co-host of Majority Report (with Sam Seder), a syndicated show critical of the George W. Bush administration.
