Aerosmith returned to Columbia Records in 1995, and released the album Nine Lives in 1997. This album featured the hit "Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)". In 1998 came the live album A Little South Of Sanity, featuring live versions of hits from both the Columbia and Geffen years. Later that year, the band recorded two new songs for the movie "Armageddon". The ballad, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", became the first Aerosmith single to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts.

Aerosmith started taking shape in 1970, when Steven Tyler first met Joe Perry while working at an ice-cream parlor in Sunapee, NH. Talk about "sweet emotion." They quickly put together a band and had a 1973 release on Capital records. From there they were free to "dream on" as the single from their debut album made it to 59.

[One] fine Aerosmith album, Get A Grip is notable for its stellar sound quality, several smash hit singles, and Tyler’s best overall vocal performance ever. Still, the album lacks some of the raw urgency and consistency of Pump, with some obvious filler (“Get A Grip,” “Flesh”) padding out its overly labored 62-minutes. It just seems like the album didn’t come to the band as naturally this time out; one can’t help but notice all the co-songwriting credits. Even some of its better songs, such as “Eat The Rich,” sound a little like retreads, in this case a rehash of “Young Lust” but with better lyrics. In addition, Fairbairn goes overboard with the production effects, and several of the songs are extended longer than necessary. As for the overplayed hits, “Living On The Edge” delivered epic social commentary, “Cryin’” was an explosive if overly repetitive power ballad, “Crazy” was a country tinged ballad, and “Amazing” was a dramatically orchestrated piano ballad about finally seeing the light (i.e.

Aerosmith began playing together in 1970, and over the years, they have become extremely popular with fans of all ages. The band got their start in Boston, and quickly developed an on-stage persona that thrilled holders of Aerosmith tickets around the world. Aerosmith released Night In The Ruts and Joe Perry decided to move on from Aerosmith and form his own musical project (Joe Perry Project). Aerosmith's new LP showed that the band's commercial momentum had slowed considerably and many questions asked if substance use was now impacting the band's music.

Aerosmith is a long-running classic rock band, originally forming in Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1970s. It enjoyed major popularity in the mid-1970s, but fell into decline and into temporary disunion. Nevertheless they would go on to enjoy a later resurgence in popularity starting in the late 1980s and continuing, at various levels, through the early to mid 2000s.
