Advair Diskus: Swelling
built 608 days ago
Advair Diskus (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol xinafoate) is a prescription drug that contains two active ingredients: fluticasone and salmeterol. Fluticasone is a drug that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause swelling and irritation of the air passages. Salmeterol relaxes the airways and opens air passages in the lungs. The combination of both allow for easier breathing.
Advair Diskus and certain other medicines may interact with each other. Tell your healthcare professional about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your healthcare professional if you take ritonavir. The anti-HIV medicines Norvir and Kaletra contain ritonavir.

Advair Diskus may cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Advair Diskus with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Each dose of Advair® is a measured quantity of dry powder that is contained in a small foil blister in the delivery device known as a Diskus®. The Diskus® contains 28 or 60 doses and has a counter that tells you the number of remaining doses. It counts down from 28 or 60 to 1. When the last five doses have been reached, the numbers appear in red to indicate that you are due for another Advair® refill.
