Adrien Brody's first paying job was as a magician, when he was 12. At 15, he had a role in Mary Tyler Moore's quickly-canceled 1988 sit-com, Annie McGuire, and played the lead in a PBS TV movie, Home at Last, as an orphan boy in the old west. Brody ... had small roles in New York Stories, Angels in the Outfield, and King of the Hill (the 1993 Steven Soderbergh drama, not the cartoon). He played the killer in Oxygen, a punk rocker in Spike Lee's Summer of Sam, and an idiot in M. Night Shyamalan's The Village. He won the Best Actor Oscar for Roman Polanski's The Pianist (2002). At 29, Brody was the youngest man ever to receive that award.

Adrien Brody has his fair share of fan sites, all run by women, and the amount should multiply over the years. His hardy hallowed expression, which makes it easy for women to consider him the strong silent type, must no doubt be a turn-on for the fairer sex. Brody may not be the most handsome man in Hollywood's high caste, but his talent and photogenic charm definitely give him an edge. Hey, if Halle Berry locked lips with him at the Oscars ceremony, what other woman wouldn't?

Jack Black, Adrien Brody and Naomi Watts, the core cast of Peter Jackson's upcoming King Kong remake, appeared at Comic-Con International on July 16 in San Diego and screened previously unseen footage of a climactic effects sequence to an enthusiastic audience. Director Peter Jackson opened the panel with a videotaped message talking about how the original 1933 King Kong film influenced his career. Jackson then teased the crowd about wanting to see some footage from his film, then introduced an exclusive clip to a raucous crowd of more than 6,000 fans. [More]

When Adrien Brody won an Oscar for The Pianist - becoming the youngest Best Actor recipient ever - some people thought he appeared out of the blue. Brody has over 20 films to his credit, including Summer of Sam, King Kong and Hollywoodland. One of the most respected young actors working today, Brody became interested in acting as a child and credits his mom, a noted photographer, for making him comfortable before the camera. True to his Queens, NY roots, he's a fan of hip-hop and electronica.
