Adamari López Toro (born in Humacao , Puerto Rico , May 18 , 1971 ), better known in show business as Adamari Lopez , is a Puerto Rican actress. She started her career at the age of six, alongside legendary Puerto Rican actress Johanna Rosaly and Venezuela n singer José Luis RodrÃguez , El Puma , in the Telemundo Canal 2 production of the Cristina Bazan soap opera .

Adamari Lopez was born on May 8th, in Puerto Rico. When she was 8 years old she appeared in the telenovela "Maria Eugenia" in which she was given a good part. She then had roles in "Yo se Que entita", "Vivir Para Ti", "Aventurera". When she was 12, she participated in projects from Puerto Rico-Venezuela - Diana Carolina and El Angel del Barrio, and after she returned home she worked in the theater in the plays "Romeo y Julieta", "Panorama Deste el Puente".

Adamari Lopez was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33 in early 2005 and underwent extensive treatment before the disease went into remission in early 2006. The actress is but one of almost 15,000 Hispanic women who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
