Carlos de Abreu, Executive Director of the festival, formally made the announcement today. The awards will be bestowed upon Ms. Williams and Ms. Sager as part of the Hollywood Movie Awards Gala Ceremony on Monday evening, October 7, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Other festival honorees include MPAA president Jack Valenti, actress Jodie Foster, director Martin Scorsese, actress Naomi Watts, director McG, screenwriter Robert Towne, producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, editor Pietro Scalia, composer Marc Shaiman, production designer Harold Michelson, and casting director Marcia Ross. Regarding the announcement, Mr. de Abreu said, "Ms. Williams's proven historic humanitarian achievements have been demonstrated by her efforts campaigning to get the international community to adopt and sign a treaty to ban antipersonnel landmines, which became international law faster than any other major international treaty in history.

Adam Sandler and director Seth Kearsley present an animated Hanukkah tale with ADAM SANDLER'S EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS. Davey Stone (Sandler) is lurching down a wayward path. He's a drunk and aging delinquent, infamous in Dukesberry for spreading misery as deftly as he belches full sentences. He's facing prison when Whitey Duvall (Sandler again), a lovable, physically challenged man, proposes that Stone work with him at the community center as a referee for the local basketball league. The surly Stone accepts the job, and moves in with Whitey and his twin sister, Eleanore (... voiced by Sandler). But the true test is whether Stone can rise above his self-destructive habits in order to reunite with his former girlfriend, Jennifer (Jackie Titone), and act as a role model for her young son, Benjamin (Austin Stout).

Chicago Sun Times reported that Britney Spears almost played Adam Sandler's angel mother in "Little Nicky," but at the last minute, director Steve Brill had second thoughts about casting her. "Originally, we thought [Spears] would be fun as the mother to the spawn of Satan," says Brill. "But then we thought it would just be a little strange. She brings a lot of baggage to the role." In fact, casting the teen queen mother of Sandler proved the most problematic part of the movie. "In an early draft, Adam Sandler, whose father is Satan, is sent to heaven to find his mother.

The first time Adam got any air time he played as Tom Hanks' brother in a skit. After many appearances he got promoted to a full-fledged cast member. He started during 1993-1994 season. The Los Angeles Times gave him a horrible review; they called him “the most talent less, juvenile and offensive member of the current cast." Adam had to go through a lot of movies before he got a good review but after he did his movies started getting better and better and very soon he is was what he is today, one of the top 100 actors in America.
