At the age of 17 Ada was introduced to Mary Somerville, a remarkable woman who translated LaPlace's works into English, and whose texts were used at Cambridge. Though Mrs. Somerville encouraged Ada in her mathematical studies, she ... attempted to put mathematics and technology into an appropriate human context. It was at a dinner party at Mrs. Somerville's that Ada heard in November, 1834, Babbage's ideas for a new calculating engine, the Analytical Engine. He conjectured: what if a calculating engine could not only foresee but could act on that foresight. Ada was touched by the "universality of his ideas". Hardly anyone else was.

AdaNet is the result of several years of providing information about Ada, Ohio and Hardin County on the web. The Village of Ada page was first introduced in June 1996 with a brief history of the town and various links of interest. This information is still available. Ada ... had her own epilogue file in the end of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, while her relationship with Wesker is elaborated more in the Wesker's Report fictional documentary. She was also mentioned in the original Resident Evil in a text file from John prior to her first actual appearance. She is quite popular as a sort of rival and/or romantic interest for Leon, so she will no doubt appear as often as Leon in the series' future.

Ada had obtained the sample, the goal of her mission and one step of Wesker's plan to resurrect the Umbrella Corporation. However, Wesker has become suspicious of Ada's loyalities, due to her secret connections with another major pharmaceutical corporation, 'S'. Under orders of the Organization, Ada double-crossed Wesker and delivered a fake version of the sample to him. Ada knows... that Wesker isn't stupid and that tough times lay in wait.

Ada,Ohio was founded in 1853 as Johnstown. S. M. Johnson was a founding father who brought the first industry to the area. After it was discovered that a town near Columbus was already called Johnstown a post office department official in Washington, General Thomas Kilby Smith, renamed the village Ada for his favorite sister.
