Acyclovir is sold under the trade name Zovirax and is licensed for the treatment of herpes simplex (genital herpes), chicken pox and shingles (zoster). It is widely used by people with HIV to treat infections such as herpes simplex, shingles, hairy leukoplakia (HLP), herpes, human herpes virus 6 (HHV-6) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).
