Acura TTS (text-to-speech) is a software application provided on the Music Link CD-ROM for those who want additional play modes. This optional software installs on the Mac or PC you use with your iPod. It scans the iPod library to create text-to-speech files (voice prompts) for the playlists, artists, albums, and genres (but not song titles) on the iPod. The text-to-speech files are automatically saved in iTunes (the software program used with an iPod) and copied onto the iPod. Your Music Link uses these voice prompts to help you search for music on your iPod while you're in your vehicle.

Acura is Honda's luxury brand. Exclusively developed for the North American (Canada, U.S.) and Hong Kong markets back in 1986, it has expanded into Mexico and China. The first Acura dealership will open in Japan in 2008.

Acura Music Link has six play modes/categories, or six ways to listen to music: you can search playlists, search artists, search albums, search genres, shuffle all albums, and shuffle all songs. Each disc number (1-6) on your vehicle's audio system corresponds with a play mode/category in the Music Link. For example, selecting disc number 1 on your audio system activates the playlist search in your Music Link.

Earlier this year, Acura reached agreement with the FDA on a Special Protocol Assessment for a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating ACUROX(TM) Tablets. This clinical trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo- controlled, multi-center, repeat-dose study evaluating the safety and efficacy of ACUROX(TM) Tablets for the treatment of acute, moderate to moderately severe postoperative pain. The 3-arm clinical trial compares two dose levels of ACUROX(TM) Tablets to placebo and is targeted to enroll 135 patients per arm (approximately 405 patients in total). Study medication will be administered to patients every six hours for 48 hours following the onset of moderate to severe pain following bunionectomy surgery. This pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial began enrolling patients in September with a final study report expected in the second half of 2008.

Videos on the iPod: Acura TTS 1.3 is compatible with videos purchased from the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) with iTunes 7.0.1. In general, movies and TV shows do not appear on the iPods music list, and will not be indexed by TTS. Music videos appear in the music list and will be indexed by TTS. Video podcasts currently do not appear in the music list and are not indexed by TTS. Non-iTunes Store videos are not supported, and may not work. If you have difficulties, try experimenting with the "kind" and "skip when shuffling" settings for the videos (select the track and Get Info or right-click).
