One of the most requested features of Action Replay is Datel's revolutionary “FreeLoader” technology. This groundbreaking feature lets you enjoy Japanese and American NTSC games on your European PAL GameCube – sometimes many months before they’re released in Europe. Without "FreeLoader", a PAL GameCube will simply refuse to play anything but PAL games.

The Action Replay slides into the cartridge slot and then a game slides into a compartment on the back. Obviously you cannot use the codes without having the unit attached. The Action Replay ... has a power switch and USB port. The USB port allows you to connect the unit to a PC in order to obtain new codes. It is important to note that you do not have to use this method. You can also simply go to the site, check the new codes, and then enter them manually as you would with any cheat device. However, the USB connection is a clever addition by Datel and it works extremely well.

Use your GameCube controller to choose the game you want to beat and you'll be presented with a long list of mouthwatering cheats which have been crafted specifically for your selected game. Action Replay revisits a time and a milieu of radical art practice without parallel in this country's art history. 1970s post object art broke with painting and sculpture as it had been practiced and set the precedents for much of the art which followed. And yet the works in this exhibition are largely unknown to the majority of today's art audience; this is largely due to the poor representation of post object art in collections and to its inadequate coverage in the history books. Assembled in the main from the artists' own collections, or remade for the occasion, Action Replay recovers a crucial chapter in the history of contemporary New Zealand art.
