Accupril® should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: history of an allergic reaction which included swelling of the face/lips/tongue/throat (angioedema).

If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to Accupril or similar drugs, such as captopril and enalapril maleate, you should not take this medication. Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced.

Accupril can cause injury and possibly death to a developing fetus when used after the third month of pregnancy. Talk with your doctor at once if you suspect that you are pregnant.

There may be other drugs not listed that can affect Accupril. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

You may feel light-headed, especially during the first few days of Accupril therapy. If this occurs, notify your doctor. If you actually faint, stop taking the medication until you have consulted with your doctor.

You may experience dizziness, light-headedness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, back pain, dry cough or blurred vision as your body adjusts to Accupril®. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
