Hohner Panther HA- 3100 Accordion Hohner Panther HA- 3100 Accordion features 31 treble keys, 12 bass/chord buttons, two sets of treble reeds and double strap brackets. Hohner's Panther HA-3100 accordion is offered in the GCF key combination with a sleek matte black finish.
[T]here is the "helicon" or "helikon" accordion. These often have up to four or five rows on the treble side, tuned a fourth apart, like the 2 and 3 row models but giving a wider range of available keys. The treble rows have one button tuned to give the same note on both the push and pull of the bellows like the Club system. The bass reeds have resonance chambers, which add volume to the bass and give it a great deal of "punch". The resonance chambers are often connected to little horns, like the bell of a sousaphone or tuba, to increase this effect.
The acoustic accordion will be operated by air passing over the reeds. there are reeds in both sides, in the box parts, called the casings. The casing on the right side of the accordion is called the treble casing, and on the left, the bass casing. In between the two casings there will be a bellows made of 4 pieces of pleated cardboard covered with cloth lining, and joined at the corners by leather gussets and with a metal corner pieces. If the bellows starts to leak due to age and wear, it can be temporarily repaired, but the repair may not last, and it is best to have a new bellows made. The cost of custom made bellows is now about $475, but may vary for complexity.

Like brother "Skeets", former Larry Malmberg student and Orkestar Bez Ime member Dee Langley has made a lifelong passion of the accordion. Granted her mentor probably never imagined that she'd end up employing her hard-won skills in a nearly all-female quintet that specializes in Balkan folk music. Let alone one with a pronounced sense of humor. But hey, that's the free reed game! -City Pages
While some doubts remain about the definite authorship, most scholars attribute The Book Of Accordion to a Jewish scribe named F. Buschmann. While other sources exist, the most widely accepted is an account found among the Dead Sea Scrolls which describes how the Book of Accordion was first written on a sheet of free reed aerophone around the year 945 BCE.
Various processes are used to construct the many metal parts of an accordion. These typically involve melting the metal to a liquid form, then placing it in a preformed mold. When the metal is cooled and hardened, the mold is opened and the part is complete. In the case of the reeds, the metal is specially treated by a process called tempering. This reduces the hardness and brittleness of the metal, making it more ductile and tough.
