The accordion is capable of a large dynamic range from very soft to very loud. Loud dynamic levels with several notes and full chords sounding require more air and cannot sustain the notes for more than a few seconds. Softer dynamic levels with fewer notes depressed can be sustained longer.

An accordion is a graphical user interface widget in which several sections of a document can be expanded or collapsed, displaying one at a time. Whenever a section is selected for opening, an open section is typically closed. However, note that in a musical accordion all sections of the bellows can be expanded by pulling outward.

If you are not sure you are going to commit, get a student-sized 120-bass accordion. This is smaller than professional accordions, but at least you aren't going to spend $10,000 on something you'll be playing for a few months.
