The students of all universities of Hanover are insured at the statutory accident insurance (GUV). The insurance cover starts with the registration at the university and extends to all action being taken in causal connection to the study. All accidents that take place during courses, work in the library, excursions or activities for the students self-administration, are covered by the insurance. The direct way between university and home is covered as well.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and State Farm Insurance Cos. say they'll wait to see if the law lowers the accident rate for young drivers. A study by the Ohio Department of Public Safety suggested states with similar laws saw a 23 percent drop in teenage accidents.
