Absolute Zero and the Conquest of Cold, a public broadcasting special and outreach campaign that will premier January 8 & 15, 2008, will demonstrate how civilization has been profoundly affected by the mastery of cold. SPS has become a national Partner of the project, and will be involved in outreach, strategic guidance, support and in-kind institutional resources.

Nearly ten years in the making, Crashing Icons is a triumph of individual thinking and free spirit yearning for a chance of free expression, and this artistic tension shines through the music. In his spare time he wrote, produced and directed – and funded – ‘Absolute Zero’, his first attempt at directing since film school. The script won the Australian Writers’ Guild award for Best Short Script, and ... the award for Best Short Film in the US-based PAGE Screenwriting Awards. The film has been screened at festivals around the world, and recently won the Jury Prize for Best Short at the TriMedia Festival in the USA.

Absolute Zero (AZero) is Cornell University's premiere breakdance crew. Founded in 1997 out of a common interest for hip hop culture, feeling the beat, and making people go crazy and shout nonsense words, the crew has continued to promote an interest in bboying across the Cornell campus and in the greater Ithaca community.
