Recently, the Abhishek Bachchan movie Guru was released in Toronto, Canada on January 12. This was the forst Bollywood film to be premiered outside India. After the event, Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya, media reports said. Elgin & Winter Garden Theater Center in downtown Toronto. Ravi Prakash of Ram Gopal Varma Productions clarifies, "It is not a package deal or anything that Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya have been signed together. Sarkar (2005) had Amitabh and Abhishek playing father and son and Sarkar 2 being its sequel, it was natural that they both are in the film." About Aishwarya's inclusion in the sequel, he says, "Ramuji (Ram Gopal Varma) signs his actors only according to the demands of the script."

Rumors of their marriage started to spread as Amitabh Bachchan’s young brother, Ajitabh Bachchan went to an astrologer, Chandrashekhar Swami in Bangalore with their horoscopes in January 2006.
