Ripken Baseball and the Aberdeen Ironbirds enjoyed a third consecutive sold-out season in 2004. The state-of- the-art complexis home to theRipken Youth Baseball Academy and the Ripken World Series. In addition, the stadium's club level, available to rent year round, is a popular venue for meetings, holiday parties, and weddings. The penthouse facility offers first class accommodations for up to 500 guests and on-site catering by Levy Restaurants.

The IronBirds ... received key contributions from pitchers Bob McCrory and Jeff Moore in a season in which Aberdeen led the league in team ERA for much of the year. McCrory went 2-2 with a 2.33 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings. Moore won a team-high six games with an Orioles organization-leading 2.29 ERA in 15 appearances.

Ferrous, coincidentally, is the same name as the Aberdeen IronBirds' mascot, so it will be interesting to see if the name sticks in the Lehigh Valley. Ferrous has been the name of the IronBirds' mascot since the team entered the New York-Penn League in 2002.
