In 2001, the company moved into a new 300 acre Home office in New Albany, Ohio, and further expanded its headquarters by 2003.[18][29] Also in 2003, the company published its last publication of A&F Quarterly, its winter edition, and reported brand sales of up to

Most of Abercrombie & Fitch stores are, or have been remodeled to be, canoe stores. The prototype has been remodeled to included louvers installed into both sides of the exterior windows' frames to create a darker atmosphere. The cost for the upgrade on A&F stores are at around $10 million USD.[33] Another $40 million were spent on upgrading fixtures, flooring, and sound systems on every store, four brands across.[33] A few chain stores that feature plaid carpeting and preppy wallpaper still exist.
  9. Abercrombie Fitch -- Af Quarterly
Abercrombie & Fitch has come back from the brink of extinction several times since its founding in 1892 by David Abercrombie. Originally created to sell camping gear, Abercrombie met up with lawyer Ezra Fitch and expanded the business to include a myriad of products for the rugged outdoorsmen of the time. Yet A&F didn't cater to just anyone with a yen for adventure, but only to those who could afford to pay premium prices for high-quality goods. Among the firm's early adventurers were Rough Rider Teddy Roosevelt, Byrd, Charles "Lucky" Lindbergh, and Amelia Earhart; the next generation included Winston Guest and macho sportsman and writer Ernest Hemingway.
  10. Abercrombie
Abercrombie & Fitch looks to be in the wrong line of business right now. True they have middle-range apparel stores, but they are most commonly associated as Abercrombie or Abercrombie & Fitch which will be higher end apparel stores and higher end apparel looks TERRIBLE. The credit crunch and economy are causing people to move toward lower to middle range apparel and its being reflected in their same store sales figures which showed a 4% decline in September. Take a look at Coach which reported a dreadful quarter today. ANF is simply battling a losing battle here and those $6 EPS estimates for 2008 will be looking more like $4 by the time Mar 08 rolls around. Apparel is not the place to be right now.
