By 1978, Abba were megastars. They built a new state of the art studio in Stockholm, and it was in demand from numerous other bands - Led Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door was recorded there, for example. The single Summer Night City topped the charts, and set the stage for Abba's foray into the disco sound, with the album Voulez-Vous. This release started to mark the beginning of Abba's decline in Europe, while getting them considerably more attention in the US. Hits still came - Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight), Voulez-Vous, Chiquitita and I Have a Dream were all taken from this album, but in the light of Punk and New Wave in the UK, many felt that Abba were past their prime and were looking for something new.

ABBA Personnel Services Inc. (Abba) is one of the major recruitment agencies in the Philippines. Thru the POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration), the Philippine government gave ABBA, in two consecutive instances (2002 and 2005), the special citation of “Top Agency Performance Award”. The Award is based on volume of deployment, compliance with recruitment laws and rules, responsiveness and welfare programs and allied services. There are at least 1, 200 recruitment agencies in the Philippines, and Abba was one of a handful of agencies that received the Award.
Music by the recording artist More a phenomenon than a band, Abba's international stardom is untouchable. Their lush instrumentation and perfect vocal harmonies shine like disco lights reflecting off of lip gloss, patent leather pumps and sequins. Their ubiquitous, exuberant sound symbolized the glamour, hedonism and excesses of the 1970s. Their hits create moments of pure joy for losing yourself in the movement, sights and sounds of the crowded disco. But amidst the ecstasy came overwhelmingly sorrowful songs that brought you sympathy while you buried your lonely tears in a pillow. While their orchestrations are complex, their lyrics are written in the international pop language of English that "anyone" can sing, expressing sentiments everyone feels.

Since its beginning in 1998, Abba has deployed more than 7,000 workers all over the world. Abba has given overseas employment to nurses, doctors, laboratory technicians, accountants and office personnel, food service workers, programmer and computer engineers, construction people, teachers, carpenters, masons, maintenance personnel. These workers, along with their employers, will attest to Abba’s dependability, honesty and commitment in doing its work.
Abba toured the US in 1979, with huge audiences, but the US breakthrough was perhaps too little, too late. The next release, Super Trouper (1980), again achieved respectable sales but it started to sound as if the group themselves were running out of ideas. It is ironic that this, and the final album, The Visitors (1981) show a songwriting maturity and depth of feeling that is distinctly lacking on their earlier recordings.
