built 641 days ago
In 2003 Aaron Fike won the World Championship Midget Feature held in Auckland, New Zealand besides winning the USAC Night Before the 500 race. Fike made his stock car debut in an ARCA/RE MAX series in which he finished ninth. In 2004, he began racing part-time in the Busch series for the #43 Curb Agajanian Performance group car and for GIC-Mixon Motorsports. That year his best finish came when he arrived 17th at the Stacker 200 Presented by Y.J.Stinger.

Fike began running the Busch Series in 2005, filling in for his brother Aaron in select races. He made his debut at the Hershey's Take 5 300, staring 25th and finishing 30th. At Phoenix, A.J. made the field in 36th, but finished in 30th, one lap off the pace. He would race again at Nashville in June, securing his best career finish at that time of 28th. He was 32nd at Milwaukee Mile, 30th at Pikes Peak International Raceway and 33rd at IRP.

Except for lapped traffic, it was the only pass Fike would have to make the rest of the night as he paced all 25 laps for the victory. The win guaranteed Fike a spot in Saturday's Championship Race, including the pole in Saturday's 8-lap dash to determine the first 8 spots in the 40-lap finale.

Aaron lost it in a pack of traffic and spun down off the banking before shooting back up and narrowly avoiding contact with the turn two wall. Fike fought for control, but the No. 1 Red Horse Racing Toyota slid down the banking again, doing significant damage to the nose of the truck.

The first race for Fike and the No. 1 Toyota will be the Chevy Silverado HD 250 at the famed 2.5-mile tri-oval of Daytona International Speedway on February 16, 2007. Live television coverage of the 100-lap race will be broadcast on SPEED at 8 p.m. ET and radio coverage will be provided by MRN.

The next year, Fike would compete again for one race. He drove the #08 1-800-For-A-Phone Chevy at Bristol Motor Speedway for Green Light Racing. He once again started 36th, and fared worse than the previous year. He would finish 33rd, after DNFing for being black flagged for lack of speed.
