Aarohi Communications Inc. announced the addition of Taufik Ma as vice president of marketing and business development. In this new position, Taufik will spearhead Aarohi's marketing team and drive existing and new business expansion efforts. Taufik brings over 17 years of experience in the semiconductor and systems business. Most recently, he was general manager of the Enterprise Platforms and Services Division at Intel Corporation where he oversaw the growth of revenues to over $400M annually.
Uncloaking from stealth mode, startup Aarohi Communications unveiled its first product at the recent NSDC. The new AV150 storage processor adds intelligence to standard Fibre Channel storage networks, supporting virtualization, mirroring, and other advanced storage services at speeds of up to 10Gbps. The AV150 is the first storage processor to combine high performance with integrated Fibre Channel MACs, reducing system cost and board space.

Aarohi Communications, a firm developing ASICs for storage applications, has raised another $6 million in Series B funding, VentureWire has learned. This financing is the continuation of the round that raised $8 million in December 2002, and Aarohi plans to raise another $6 million to complete the round within two months. New investor McData takes the lead for this tranche, though the terms are the same as the earlier tranche, led by Intel Capital. - By John Fuller
