A-Train

this image shows clouds in the background The A-Train is a set of 5 satellites that are planned to orbit in the same orbital plane one after the other in pretty close spacing. It is approximately 15 minutes from the front satellite to the rear satellite and some of them are within a minute of each other. The A-Train is led by the Aqua satellite. Next are CloudSat and CALIPSO followed by Parasol and then Aura pulling the rear. All five satellites cross the equator within a few minutes of one another at around 1:30 pm (13:30) local time. Since these satellites are flying in tandem, the set of satellites is referred to as a constellation, or alternatively, as a formation.
A-Train, known in Japan as A Ressha de Ikou (A列車で行こう), or Take the A-Train, is a series of train simulation video games, originally developed and published by Japanese game developer Artdink in Japan. The version 3 of the game published by Maxis in United States under 'A-Train' title.
Favorites of the North Louisiana scene throughout the early '80s, A-Train produced several notable studio musicians without gaining much national recognition while still together. Formed around the core of Buddy and Bruce Flett, as well as vocalist Miki Honeycutt, A-Train started in 1979 with the intention of performing bluesy rock & roll. Teaming with keyboardists David Egan and Chris McCaa, saxophonist John Howe, and drummer Paul Griffith, the seven musicians quickly became one of the bigger live acts of the area upon their debut in 1979. Releasing four albums during the next six years, the lack of forward momentum left them no choice but to break up despite a major-label record contract sitting on their desk by the fall of 1985. The band split apart and made great progress independently of one another, only occasionally reuniting for live performances in the late '90s. All of their studio albums were collected into two volumes and released in 2002.

In 2005, the Afternoon or "A-Train" satellite constellation will consist of 5 satellites flying in formation around the globe. This group will include NASA's EOS Aqua and Aura satellites, and CNES' PARASOL (Polarization and Anisotrophy of Reflectances for Atmospheric Science coupled with Observations from a Lidar) satellite. CloudSat and CALIPSO will be inserted in orbit behind the Aqua spacecraft. A sixth spacecraft in the A-Train, the Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO), is planned for launched in 2007 and will be placed ahead of the Aqua spacecraft.
Jamie DeRevere plays drums for the Athens A-Train Band. Jamie has ... played in a number of bands in the Athens area, quite often with Darrin Cook. They have known each all their lives growing up locally as first cousins. Jamie and Darrin form the rhythm section of the band and their play together is impeccable. Jamie is a master of all the jazz and swing beats from intricate latin rhythms to bebop. Jamie is able to play a ballad very tastefully and to really let loose with an up-tempo jazz tune.
Who says you can't have two A-Train lines cross each other? This is a simulation of the contemporary railroad scene in South Florida, including Dade (left), Broward (center) and Palm Beach (right) Counties. The trains running on each route are color-coded. Rail operations include Tri-Rail, AMTRAK, Metrorail, CSX and Florida East Coast Railway. The southernmost station is Metrorail's Dadeland South. The FEC and CSX mainlines continue off the map north from West Palm Beach and Mangonia Park.
