The decision to draw a line in the sand seems to have worked, at least for now. In the immediate aftermath of the Ex-Im Bank announcement, TNK sued for peace with BP-Amoco, and signed an agreement transferring control of Chernogorneft back to Sidanko. Under this new deal, TNK gets a 25-percent-plus-one-share in Sidanko, while BP-Amoco retains its 10-percent ownership stake. More important, BP-Amoco's voting shares will increase from 20 percent to a 25 percent plus one blocking stake, which should allow BP-Amoco to better protect its interests. But while this may be a victory for the reform of Russian corporate governance, it may bring little joy to countless other foreign investors in Russia who do not have BP-Amoco's political clout (Reuters, Bloomberg, PRNewswire, December 20-22, 1999).

As the initial arc of Supreme Power chugs towards a finish line littered with cliffhangers, Straczynski decides to opt for a visually creative solution to address a sticky conundrum. With the various story threads splintering, hopping from one to the next becomes increasingly clunky — so it’s simply abandoned. Instead, the concluding chapter is presented in “split-screen” form, with each set of two-page foldouts being divided into four horizontal strips10. The finale, where factions are defined and uneasy alliances are forged, sets the proper stage for the next six issues of the series11 — after which point the series will “re-launch” in 2006, moving from Marvel’s MAX line to its Marvel Knights imprint12.

The first is "electronic sell-through" (... known as "Internet sales" or "digital sell-through"). In electronic sell-through, the consumer purchases a copy of the program and downloads it to a local storage device for subsequent viewing at their convenience. Examples include movies and television shows purchased through the iTunes Store and Amazon Unbox. In the second model, "streaming video", the consumer watches a program in real time as it is transmitted to their computer but is usually not saved. Current examples of this model include advertising-supported television programs streamed free to the audience, such as those available at nbc.com, abc.com, fox.com, cbs.com, thedailyshow.com, and hulu.com.
