A Few Good Men is a military court drama that features an all-star cast of some of Hollywood's biggest stars: Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, J.T. Walsh, and Kevin Pollak all have major roles in the film, and Sorkin's script does a wonderful job of making sure that these fine actors get to do the most with their time on the screen.
"A Few Good Men" is part of a recruiting slogan for the Marine Corps. Goldstein winds up joining the Marines in this episode upon realizing that his upbringing hasn't prepared him for the rough road of life. (edit)

A Few Good Men [Blu-ray] dvd cover art For those of you who don’t know, A Few Good Men revolves around the case of two marines who are charged with murder of another marine in their platoon on an army base in Cuba. The victim was a sub-par marine who wanted off the base so badly he was willing to rat out one of his fellow marines about an illegal fence line shooting. The base is run by a hard nose Colonel (Jack Nicholson) who prefers things to be handled from within. The case is being handled by a couple of inexperienced lawyers played by Tom Cruise and Demi Moore, in hope that the trial never sees the inside of the court room. At first, the trial seems to be nothing more than a case that can be plea bargained, until they start digging and realize it goes much deeper than that.
A Few Good Men (Blu-ray) Presented in Mpeg-2 video on a 50GB Blu-ray disc, A Few Good Men has never looked better on home video. The most startling aspect of this Blu-ray presentation is the film’s incredible amount of fine detail. Every last thread of the immaculate military uniforms in the film vividly springs from the screen. Color reproduction is ... wonderfully saturated with naturally eye-popping hues rendered precisely and consistently throughout the film. Black levels are extremely deep and shadow details are expertly reproduced without the slightest bit of crushing. If there is any fault at all in the transfer, it would be in a slight amount of shakiness present in the opening scene where soldiers are performing rifle drills.
