Rap artist 50 Cent is hot. Tagged as the artist to watch in 2003, 50 will release his new album on February 11, under the direction of Eminem. But with all the talk about Eminem softening up recently to appeal to a broader audience, don't expect 50 Cent to give you soft music.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- 50 Cent's new album, Curtis, will now be released on September 11, 2007. Because of the Labor Day holiday on Monday September 3rd, the decision was made to push the release one week so that it is available everywhere at 10am on day of release.

The security team for 50 Cent met on Monday to discuss plans for his new house. Last month, there were at least 10 shots fired when 50 Cent and his entourage entered a Jersey City hotel, but as of last week investigators believed that at least one of the gunmen was a member of 50 Cent's entourage. In 2000 the young Queens native--whose past seems to be of more interest than his music--was shot nine times outside the Queens home of his grandmother (his mother was killed when he was 8). He reportedly still has a hole in his jaw and bullet fragment in his tongue from the shootings.
