The HP-45 was HP's first scientific calculator to have a shift key. This was such a novel feature at the time that HP credited the key with nearly doubling the computational power of the calculator.

Club 45 If the Greek philosophers known as the Eclectics were still around, Zach Bruell, the man behind Table 45, would be an honorary member. These ancient thinkers cherry-picked ideas from many schools of thought, combining them into one unified view of reality.

The HP-45 had code to implement a timer. This was never exposed as a user feature because the lack of a quartz crystal in the HP-45 made the timer fairly inaccurate. The timer could be invoked by pressing RCL and then pressing CHS 7 8 all at the same time. Once in timer mode, CHS toggled it between running and stopped. Pressing 1-9 stored the current time in that register when the timer was running or recalled the stored time when the timer was stopped. Pressing the decimal point key, brought the calculator back to normal mode with the time still in the display.

All six Speer and Federal .45 GAP ammunition loads are available right now. However, guns for the new cartridge have been slower in coming. Prototypes of the new Glock Model 37 .45 GAP pistol were initially previewed at the 2003 SHOT Show and were shown to industry journalists and demonstrated at some public shooting sports events as early as spring 2003. But then engineering delays arose, relatively late in the Glock preproduction sequence, stemming from translation problems between the geometry of the 9mm-configuration frame and necessary slide dimensions for the .45-diameter cartridge. Not to put too fine a point on it, the .45 GAP cartridge was relatively easy to shorten to 9mm length, but it was still just as big around. Initial Model 37 prototypes were built with a Model 22-type .40/9mm-dimension frame and slide.
McCumbee, Andretti named to Drive #45 Dodge: Petty Enterprises announced that Chad McCumbee and John Andretti will drive the #45 Marathon/Wells Fargo/Tire Kingdom Dodge this summer. The duo will be filling the seat of full time driver Kyle Petty. Petty, with permission from primary and associate sponsors will step out of the car in a five race hiatus to join TNT during their six-race broadcast schedule. Petty will return to the car during the road course event at the Infineon Raceway and provide in-car race analysis. Petty will complete the season after the July 15 event at the Chicagoland Speedway in the #45 Marathon/Wells Fargo/Tire Kingdom Dodge. McCumbee, 22, will attempt to make his Nextel Cup debut at Pocono Raceway on June 10 during the Pocono 500.

The HK .45 was developed with the input of Special Forces veteran and custom pistolsmith Larry Vickers and well-known weaponcraft instructor and IPSC/IDPA founding member Ken Hackathorn. Both men are skilled shooters and instructors with a huge amount of knowledge regarding what should be incorporated into a fighting pistol. Both are strong proponents of the 1911, so the final configuration of this gun is noteworthy.
