24: The Game: Gameplay
built 641 days ago
Many of the characters from the TV series featured in the game, with actors providing their voices and likenesses. Although expectations were high, 24: The Game met a mixed reception from critics. The use of likenesses from the TV show, as well as voice acting and a tight script were all praised. The feel and style of the game was ... well recieved, closely matching the show. Even the way the device and ambience sounds had been used was well liked. The use of licesensed assets in this way proved to be the game's only popular point, with almost all gameplay sections heavily criticised.
If Sony Cambridge had placed as much emphasis on the gameplay mechanics as it had recreating the show’s style, then 24: The Game would have been an excellent action title. [Apr 2006, p.102]

The problems the game has are largely design issues. The camera in the third-person action stages, for example, leaves something to be desired, and the whole “split-screen” thing actually gets in the way of the gameplay, reducing your screen size and distracting you at the same time, often when time is tight and you can’t afford to mess around.
