The company began as a one-club operation in 1983 called 24 Hour Nautilus. Mark Mastrov, Leonard Schlemm and a third partner began the firm, but eventually it was only Mastrov and Schlemm who continued its expansion.
By the end of 1994, that lone club had grown to more than 32 fitness centers in Northern California, giving birth to the 24 Hour Nautilus fitness chain. Convenient locations, the latest equipment, affordable pricing, knowledgeable staff, and outstanding service - all available up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week - contributed to the company's tremendous growth and success.
There are more than 300 locations nationwide, and these popular clubs are known for being open 24 hours/day. Most clubs offer just about all the amenities you could want, including cardio machines, weightlifting equipment, and group fitness classes. However, they vary from location to location. There are four types of 24-hour fitness clubs:
