The 1993 Senior PGA Tour was the 14th season since the Senior PGA Tour officially began in 1980 (it was renamed the Champions Tour in 2003). The season consisted of 38 official money events with purses totalling $26,500,000, including four majors. Dave Stockton won the most tournaments, five. While DOD accounted for 54% of all classification decisions reported for FY 1992, for FY 1993 it was 58%. CIA accounted for 25% of the total, Justice 13%, and State 3%. Again, the remaining agencies accounted for only 1% of the combined classification activity. These agencies run the gamut... in the degree of their involvement with classified information. They range from very large departments that possess very little classified information, and generate almost none, to very small entities that exist almost exclusively in a classified environment.

For 1993, Nissan replaced the Stanza with the Altima. The major improvement over the Stanza was an extra inch of rear leg room and head room. The compact Altima was offered in four versions: base, step-up GXE, sporty SE, and deluxe GLE. The only available engine was a revamped version of the Stanza's 2.4-liter twin-cam 4-cylinder. When installed in the Altima, it provided 150 horsepower. A 5-speed manual was standard on all models except the flagship GLE version, which came standard with the 4-speed automatic that was optional on the three lower trim levels.
In FY 1993, agencies detected a total of 18,165 infractions. Compared to FY 1992, this figure represents an 11% decrease. Although the overall number of inspections has decreased by a substantial margin, the average number of infractions discovered per inspection decreased slightly: from 0.99 in FY 1992, to 0.97 in FY 1993. This rate indicates that not all agencies leave effective self-inspection programs. ISOO has consistently held that agencies would identify a far greater number of infractions if agencies conducted more quality self-inspections. If agencies have not already incorporated periodic samples of their classified product into their self-inspection programs, ISOO strongly encourages them to do so. Although the overall number of infractions decreased, an increase in the mismarking category appears to indicate that more agencies are incorporating document reviews as part of their self-inspection programs.

In 1993, Lucchino was named to the United States National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS) by President Clinton and was confirmed by the Senate. He served on the Commission until July 1999.

During FY 1993, only 3% of all original classification decisions were marked for declassification with a specific date or event, as compared to 5% of all original actions reported in FY 1992. Both of these proportions are too low. Changes to the classification system currently being considered, as directed by Presidential Review Directive (PRD) 29, include proposed solutions to the problem of indefinite duration of classification.
