The 1986 Mustang had an outstanding year as far as sales are concerned and it performed well, too. It would be the last year of the SVO... it had never been the best selling Mustang and Ford was ready to concentrate and bigger and better things. Mustang fans were encouraged with the continued success of the pony car that continued to maintain its performance and kept getting better every year. After the 1986 model year consumers couldn't wait until the 1987 Mustangs hit the dealerships!
In the 1986 opener on September 7, the Bears blew out Cleveland 41-31, in a game that featured the first use of instant-replay ever in an NFL game. This first use worked against Chicago, as a touchdown was awarded to the Browns on the ruling. The following week, new Philadelphia coach Buddy Ryan brought his Eagles to town for a grudgematch between the two bitter enemies Ditka and Ryan. The Bears prevailed in overtime, 13-10 in an emotional contest. Over the course of the next four weeks, Chicago dominated their opponents, with their defense on the way to an NFL record for fewest points allowed in a 16-game season. The Bears had won their first 12 games in 1985, and after the loss to Miami, won another 12 in a row including the playoffs.
On September 28, 1986, Gillaume Leserve, the Executive Director International ("ED Int"), put out an order binding on all Sea Org members. Within the Sea Org, these binding orders were called Flag orders. The September 28, 1986 Flag Order No. 3905 forbade Sea Org members from having any more new children. The reason given by ED Int. was that the Sea Org simply did not have the time, money and resources to raise children properly. In the event Sea Org members elected to disobey this Flag Order, they would be exiled to a non Sea Org Scientology organization of the Class IV level until the Child reached 6 years of age. Once the unauthorized child achieved 6 years of age, the parents could return to the Sea Org. (Mary Tabayoyon)
