1965: People
built 214 days ago
On the morning of April 29, 1965 at 7:28:43 a.m., an earthquake registering 6.5 magnitude occurs in Western Washington centered between Seattle and Tacoma. This is the fourth strongest documented earthquake in the Puget Sound region since 1850. Other strong earthquakes occurred in 1872 (estimated at 7.3 or 7.4 magnitude), 1949 (7.1), and 2001 (6.8). In 1965, three people are killed by falling debris, one on South King Street in Seattle’s Pioneer Square and two at Fisher Flouring Mills on Seattle’s Harbor Island. Four elderly women die from heart failure attributed to the earthquake. They live in Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Port Townsend.

When the 1965 flood hit Mankato, people tried hard to stop the water from destroying the whole city. One of their options was to sandbag. Volunteers came from all over to help Mankato residents. Many people from out of town came because they didn't have to spend their time rebuilding. The town was filled with volunteers who were willing to work a hard, long day just to help people in need. Some of the most helpful people in the sandbagging process were the high school students.

Despite the protestations of the 1965 act's sponsors, the sources of immigration have changed radically. This is partly due to the fact that there are fewer people in Europe are seeking to leave, now that most countries there are modern and industrialized. The ending of the national origins quotas opened the doors to mass entry of people from Asia and Latin America (regions where people are far more likely to want to emigrate), and the law's emphasis on family reunification ensured that those through the door first would be able to bring in their relatives, freezing out potential immigrants from Europe and from other developing nations.

A complete data analysis should go back at least to 1965 when ethics conditions first came out, possibly earlier. Since 1965 forward, one can view the use of heavy force to control, fear tactics, and physical restraint, etc. Those who were there remember the inception of these methods. From that time forward, one finds the misuse of ethics conditions on persons with great enturbulation resulting -- one finds additives to the ethics conditions in the form of make-wrong mechanisms -- including outright physical body punishment. One finds ARCxs occurring, some severe enough to cause former upstats to leave altogether. It is true that some people left before this time, but it was due to the case strain from running research processes.

The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation was established in 1965 with the purpose of giving back to the community. Under the current direction of J.W. Marriott, Jr. and Richard E. Marriott, the Marriott Foundation is dedicated to helping youth secure a promising future, especially through education on the secondary and higher education levels, mentoring and youth leadership programs. Equally important are organizations that help provide relief from hunger and disasters; support people with disabilities; and create gainful employment opportunities for vulnerable youth and adults.
