Although it might not be obvious, there were a lot of changes in the cove area for the 1962 Corvette. The lip that bordered the coves was part of the fiberglass, not a separate trim piece as in previous years. Without the trim brightwork, it was not possible to offer the coves in a contrasting color. Above left: The simulated vent with three small spears featured in 1961 was replaced by a separate trim item.

It was built at the Southgate(California) plant in March of 1962. This ‘driving restoration’ serves daily duty around the Inland Empire. It has a rebuilt 389, 2bbl V-8, and now has a 700r tranny. The orginal Slim Jim transmission now serves duty as a garden/lawn ornament.”

A copy of this otherwise lost recording was found on a private reel in late 1983 or early 1984, probably in a mono mix made in 1962. It was not used for the Abbey Road Studios show in July 1983, but was in the lineup for the Sessions LP in August 1984. The last line going into the fade seems to be a repeat of the previous line, edited in, probably done for Sessions.

Mario Zagallo was one of the more experienced players on Brazil's 1962 squad. Along with Flamengo (later Botafogo) teammate Didi, they formed the attacking nucleus of the team. The prolific scoring of Garrincha, Vava and Pele (Amarildo) relied mainly on Zagallo and Didi's direction in midfield.
