Lawrence R. Klein joined the staff on November 21, 1944 as a research associate of the Cowles Commission. Mr. Klein received the degrees of B.A. at the University of California in 1942, and Ph.D. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1944. He was George May Fellow and Teaching Fellow at the Institute in 1943–44, and taught economics and statistics. His doctoral thesis (unpublished) was on "The Keynesian Revolution," and he has published articles in economic journals.
B-17-G Flying Fortress 909 during a tour of Oregon at Aurora Airport. CILHI has identified four crash sites of C-47 cargo aircraft that crashed in 1944 and 1945 in the northern part of Burma. Technical talks are to be held in Burma in November to arrange details on the excavation of the four sites in early 2003. During the talks, the U.S. team will seek to visit each site and survey them for subsequent excavation.

June 22, 1944: Dachau; 1000 Jews are transferred from the death camp of Birkenau to work the factories of Dachau. They were lucky. 98% of the Jews sent to Birkenau were gassed there. 1500 pairs of twins were tortured by Dr. Joseph Mengele in during his "medical experiments".
