Radhames Liz, a right-handed starting pitcher for the Bowie Baysox, is the Eastern League’s Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 29th. Liz, a native of El Seybo, Dominican Republic, started two games for the Baysox last week and went 1-0 with 16 strikeouts and a 1.29 ERA. In his first start of the week the 6’2”, 185 lb. hurler gave up one run on four hits and two walks and struck out six batters in seven innings of work to earn a victory against the Reading Phillies at Prince George’s Stadium last Tuesday night. The 24-year old made his second appearance of the week on Sunday at Binghamton and gave up two runs, one of which was earned, on two hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters in six innings of work in a no-decision.
