Two months after the Columbine shootings, Doug Ireland joined a group of about 50-60 others to form the Columbine Memorial Committee. Eight years later, the original founding group has dwindled to about a dozen of the original committee members who have seen their efforts come to fruition. Along the way, other community members have joined in the effort.
