The Jeep Liberty (... sold as the Jeep Cherokee) is a compact SUV from DaimlerChrysler. The KJ Liberty was introduced in 2002 with styling inspired by the Dakar and Jeepster show cars. It competes with the Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, Chevrolet Equinox and Nissan Xterra. The Liberty was the first Jeep to boast an independent suspension (though only in front), and used two new PowerTech engines: A 150hp 2.4L I4 and 210hp 3.7L V6.
