DIANA CHURCHILL
Though she was often mistaken for the daughter of Winston Churchill, actress "Diana Churchill" was no relation to the great British leader. She spent most of her decades-long career on stage and was at the peak of her popularity during the 1950s and 1960s. She debuted in "Service for Ladies" (1931); her subsequent film career includes "Sally Bishop" (1932), "The Dominant Sex" (1937), "Yes Madam?" (1938), and "Scott of the Antarctic" (1948). Churchill made her final film appearance in 1949's "The History of Miss Polly". During the 1960s, the illness of her spouse ("Barry K. Barnes") caused her to retire from acting. He died in 1965 and, not long after, Churchill developed multiple sclerosis.
