Adam Baldwin (sometimes known as Adam Barlow) was the product of the dramatic marriage between ageing Mike Baldwin and Susan Barlow, daughter of Mike's long-term enemy Ken Barlow. The marriage did not last long and Susan moved to Scotland. Fast forward 16 years of so, and Ken received the news that Susan had been killed in a car accident and that Adam would be coming to live with him in Coronation Street. This caused a tug-of-love between Mike and Ken, resulting in Adam going to live with Mike but ... attending his Scottish boarding school. Two years later, Adam appeared again in the programme, this time played by a different actor. Recent plots have included the death of his father, Mike, and his subsequently inheriting part of the knicker factory Underworld.
